This animated film claims to be a modern take on the classic fairy tale, set in the (achingly contemporary) Wild West. Also known by its original title, Cendrillon au Far West, it’s the latest dubious French fantasy to hit the big screen in Dubai. But with kids’ releases scarce at the moment, the city’s tweens will most likely take all they can get. Complete with gorilla pirates, Russian-sounding princes and ostriches as vehicles, expect this to be the most obscure adaptation of recent times. The obligatory royal ball is the only familiar billing here.
