TIME OUT SAYS

What’s scarier, a schizophrenic teen with psychotic tendencies or unloving parents that agree they have “a messed-up daughter”? It’s too bad that’s what poor Maria (India Eisley) is going through in psychological horror Look Away. Maria isn’t going through the best of times at home or at high school, to the point where she’s ridiculed at the school dance (in a very Carrie-esque manner). When she decides to give in to her literal mirror self, aptly named Airam, she starts taking control of her life in very head-strong, yet creepy ways. Her alter ego calls it “self-improvement”. But does Maria take too long to realise Airam’s violent acts have gone too far? A peculiar horror movie we can’t wait to see. Darragh Murphy
