Free outdoor films at JLT and JBR

Tis' the season for free movies at JBR for Dubai International Film Fesival and nearby for JLT Outdoor Cinema

Just as JLT’s outdoor cinema season kicked off, we’ve received more news of free film fun.

JBR will be screening flicks from December 9-16, keeping us occupied throughout Dubai International Film Festival 2015.

Motion picture fans can catch silver screen stories al fresco next month if they swing by The Beach, a 32,000 square foot area of retail and restaurants.

Those in attendance will have the beautiful Arabian Sea in the background as well as they delve into a selection of so far unannounced film titles.

The first night of DIFF, will see movie buffs get comfortable in the giant beanbags provided on a first come first serve basis. As well as flicks, viewers can see the action unfold live from the red carpet at Madinat Jumeirah if they weren’t lucky enough to be invited to the star-studded occasion.

It’s not the first time The Beach has put on an event for DIFF.

“The DIFF returns to The Beach opposite JBR this December to present a stellar lineup of brilliant films from around the globe,” Abdulhamid Juma, DIFF Chairman said. “The festival is about bringing the community together and our carefully curated showcase of films have been specifically designed to ensure there is a film for everyone.

“We urge everyone to join us for our outdoor film screenings as we celebrate some of the greatest films of the year and deliver another stellar festival for audiences in the UAE.”

Meanwhile, since November 6 the JLT Outdoor Cinema has been in full flow.

Taking place two a month until April 2016, the free event aims to get the community together. Last year it was a success with additional activities for adults and kids such as Zumba classes and breakdancing lessons.

They enjoyed a Diwali celebration, Thanksgiving, UAE National Day, Santa Meet and Greet as well as collaborations with Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Food Festival, Mother’s Day and Easter.
