Free open-air cinema coming to The Beach

Dubai International Film Festival to show classic movies from December 6 to 13

When Dubai International Film Festival comes rolling into town next month, the whole city will become awash with great cinema, and a celebration of modern day Hollywood blockbusters and classic movies of years gone by.

As part of its aim to bring brilliant cinema to everyone across the city (this year’s strap line is “Let Film Find You”), DIFF is hosting an open-air cinema at The Beach opposite JBR for a coming together of top international and regional films.

First of all, it’s free, and what better time of year is there to sit in the great outdoors, with one of the best views out across the Arabian Gulf. Head along to The Beach between Wednesday December 6 and Wednesday 13, where eight brilliant movies will be screened, one per evening.

On Wednesday 6, the red carpet opening of DIFF will be broadcast live to beachgoers, before the premiere of Majid Majidi’s latest movie Beyond the Clouds is shown. A range of classic and modern, independent and box office movies will be shown across the eight days, with an exciting showing of the original, legendary, black and white epic movie King Kong – a restored edition of the movie classic – playing on Tuesday 12.

So pull up a seat, kick back and check out some brilliant movies, without spending a penny.

See you there.
