Cinemas across the UAE are rolling out the red carpet and screening the Oscars early on Monday in a bid to bring a bit of Hollywood to the Middle East.
All the glitz and glamour will be beamed live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to screens across the region by entertainment network OSN from 3.30am onwards.
Other screenings will be held at the Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi, City Centre Muscat in Oman, City Centre Beirut in Lebanon, the Mall of Egypt and The Avenues Mall in Bahrain.
It's a great time for movie in Dubai - with the line-up for outdoor movie nights at The Backyard just released for March.
The latest bunch of screenings kicks off on Tuesday 6 March with a throwback to nineties London and a revisit to our Hugh Grant obsession with the romcom classic, Notting Hill.
Tuesday March 13 is time for Crazy Stupid Love (the film that is), before we don our suits and chunky specs for Kingsman The Golden Circle on March 20.
For the finale it’s tissues at the ready for Titanic on Tuesday March 27, but don’t worry Jack, we’ll never let go.
For Dhs75 you’ll get your ticket, a hot dog, unlimited soft drinks and popcorn.
Meanwhile a helipad cinema is coming to town, and it may well be one of the coolest ideas we’ve seen in some time.
Head on over to Dubai Festival City Mall before the summer season kicks in, and over the next six weeks you’ll be in for a treat.
By going into the mall and buying anything, literally anything, you’ll be given a ticket to go see a free movie at the specially designed outdoor cinema that has been constructed for it.
