Salma’s Big Wish

Salma’s Big Wish

TIME OUT SAYS

It feels a little bit soon to do another animated film about the Dia de los Muertos after Pixar’s Coco but we’ll give this one a go. In this new animated venture a lonely orphan girl named Salma longs to be reunited with her family. With the help of a special book that details the history of their town, Santa Clara, Salma sets off on an adventure with two orphan friends Jorge and Pedro, with the hope of finally bringing her loved ones back together. It all sounds quite uplifting (if not a little morbid and a touch upsetting) but we’re sure it will all come together in the end. It can’t be a sad story can it? We don’t know if we could handle it if she never finds her parents. We’ve got our fingers and toes crossed.
WHAT IS IT...
A colourful, sad story that comes good

WHY GO...
It’s going to be a happy ending, surely?
