Tanuki

Are you the type of mum who flinches at the sight of raw fish? Well, whether you’re a fan of trying new things to like your eggs and toast, there are two Dubai restaurants offering complimentary meals on Mother’s Day – and you might want to check them out.

Eshak
From Georgian dishes including truffle Khinkali and cheese-filled khachapuri to Middle Eastern specialties such as shish taouk and fish tajines, Eshak serves up some very interesting dishes. Try Uzbek, Armenian and Russian main courses for free when you visit on Thursday March 21 for UAE Mother’s Day.

The breezy terrace makes for a lovely lunch or dinner with the mums.
Open Sun-Sat, noon-midnight. City Walk, Al Safa (04 385 5435).

Tanuki
Fancy some sushi rolls? You’ll get a complimentary plate when you visit this Asian spot on UAE Mother’s Day, too. Tanuki Kogase, one of the restaurant's signature warm rolls, is made with lightly seared salmon, eel, and cream cheese, and has just the hint of sweetness you need for an even sweeter mums’ day.

You can also go for the more traditional sake California, a combination of salmon, avocado, cucumber and tobiko. Kiddies can join mum and munch on the new bento boxes designed just for them, which include sushi rolls, potato smiles, chicken teriyaki and dessert.
Open Sun-Wed 11am-midnight, Thu-Sat 11am-1am. The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai (04 580 8228).
