Bounty Beets

Cute café with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options

Bounty Beets

It’s sometimes tricky when your family has dietary requirements, but if you’re vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free – make a beeline to Bounty Beets.

The café at Le Méridien Mina Seyahi takes the place of organic eatery Gourmet by Kcal. It’s had a revamp and inside is like a child’s dream, kitted out with bright paintings, fairy wings murals and plenty of pink, while the terrace has tropical foliage (and, if you’re not visiting on a Friday, the less relaxing sound of construction).

Dishes on the (puntastic) menu include“I yam what I yam” (caramelised bananas and sweet potato pancakes) and “you’re all I avo wanted” (avo toast with poached eggs, which is a decent choice). There are also soups, salads and burgers as well as a special kids’ menu.

The vegan butternut squash risotto, made with coconut cream, is a little bland, but the chicken souvlaki is tender and tasty and comes with a punchy tzatziki.

Service is incredibly slow, though staff are patient with kids, picking up discarded toast/banana/soft toys time and again.

Bounty Beets is top-notch for variety, but dishes need to be a stronger and service better for it to become a regular for us.
Open daily 8am-midnight. Licensed. Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Resort & Marina, Al Sufouh, Dubai (04 399 3333).
