BASE is back
Time Out Dubai’s Club of the Year, BASE Dubai, is back after a summer break this week. It’s kicking off a new weekly party, LYFE, on Thursday September 20 at 11.30pm and you don’t want to miss it. Tagged as an “elemental extravangaza”, the event is based around the four elements of earth, air, water and fire, with the opening night fittingly featuring a heated performance from Fahrenheit, a dazzling fire show where performers dance and play with flames.
Fancy a steak dinner? From now until Wednesday October 31, diners can get a three-course meal with a glass of house grape for just Dhs299 at Time Out Dubai’s current Best Steakhouse, World Cut Steakhouse.

Dig into tapas for under Dhs200
Trendy Barcelona-style tapas bar TORO + KO has launched a special early dinner menu. The funky restaurant is serving up a daily deal from 6pm until 8pm for just Dhs199, so you’re in for a bargain dinner.

Nightclubs are reopening and DJs are firing up the turntables, and what better way to kick off proceedings than with a set from Steve Lawler? The British DJ will be taking to the ones and twos at Soho Garden on Thursday September 20 for a massive night of house music. Also appearing will be Time Out Dubai’s Best DJ duo, Jixo & Danz, who will be appearing every Thursday night alongside Jean B.

Time Out Dubai’s current Best Latin American Restaurant, LIMA Dubai, has launched a new weekly salsa night every Thursday. It will be held upstairs in the lounge with a live DJ providing the soundtrack.

Get your Ibiza groove on
Round off the working week with a super-cool party at Azure Beach JBR. The new event, Discotique, is an Ibiza-inspired Friday party that’s on until late every week, laying on top beats from live DJs and a fun, holiday atmosphere. Entry is free, too.
Ladies, start the weekend off in the best way – with free drinks. Asian restaurant and lounge Ba, at Fairmont The Palm, offers up free drinks every Thursday from 6pm until 9pm. Why not try some of the tasty dishes too and make a night of it?
Don’t miss guitarist and singer of The Stranglers, Hugh Cornwell and band, followed by Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols alongside drummer for the Stray Cats, Slim Jim Phantom and guitar ace Chris Spedding at Dubai Opera tonight only.

Fancy a night with a difference? Lebanese bar Seven Sisters is hosting a new weekly event, Fusion Fridays, with tunes coming from DJ Yussef Kanaan from 8pm until 11pm. From 11pm you can boogie to commercial music.

Japanese culture festival comes to Dubai
Japanism Sensation is coming to Dubai for the first time, and tickets are now on sale.Taking place on Friday September 21, the music festival is bringing two unique Japanese bands to perform at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena. First, taking the stage at 7pm, is band Heavenese, led by nine-time Grammy award-winning producer, Andrae Crouch. Following up is the traditional Japanese drum (taiko) ensemble Zuiho Taiko, a band made up of five people with intellectual disabilities supporting the theme of "hope, effort and live with gratitude."
The longstanding al fresco party spot at Meydan is back for the winter season this week, so head along for a top night out. Tonight sees the return of DISTURBING from 11pm until 4am, with BIZAAR on Fridays.
