This Mexican-themed venue is perfect for a girly Sunday night out – not only do you get to choose from a selection of yummy mixed drinks, the Mexican appetisers are non-stop (and they’re complimentary). Arrive early to secure a table here, as word on this night is starting to spread pretty fast.
Perfect for: A good gossip with your girlfriends, thanks to the chilled vibe.
Dress code: Smart-casual – maybe with a touch of glamour.
Tuesday 8pm-10pm. Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, Dubai Marina (04 399 5555).
Rock Bottom Café (TECOM)
If a non-pretentious dance-off is what you need for your ladies’ night on a Tuesday, then head to Rock Bottom. It reminds us of the Cheers bar where everybody knows your name – except nobody knows your name and the band churn out pop music. You’ll find free cranberry mixed drinks, so it’s also rather pocket-friendly.
Perfect for: Dancing with your girlfriends while busting some cheesy moves on the dance floor (so best you leave the conversation at home).
Dress code: From casual to dressy, anything goes at Rock Bottom.
Tuesday noon-3am. Ramee Rose Hotel, TECOM (04 450 0111).
Ruth’s Chris Steak House & Lounge
Every Thursday night, ladies can enjoy a classy after-work affair, with complimentary mixed drinks and selected beverages from 9pm until midnight. The ambiance is dark and rich and reminds us of New York, which has to be praise indeed.
Perfect for: Upscale drinks with friends – anyone looking for a convivial way to start a weekend.
Dress code: Your best work outfit. Thursday, 9pm-midnight.
The Address, Dubai Marina (04 454 4000).
Perched on the 24th floor of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, this venue offers one of the very best views of the Burj Al Arab in the city. Head out to the terrace, which remains open for the duration of summer, and you’ll get an impressive vista that stretches to Downtown Dubai. Ladies will find three complimentary drinks and if you wear red, you’ll get an additional glass of bubbly and canapés – not bad.
Perfect for: A gossip with a view.
Dress code: We think it’s worth donning a red dress for this place.
Monday 6pm-10pm. Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Umm Suqeim (04 406 8999).
No.5 Lounge & Bar
If you’re a fan of sushi, head to this glitzy DIFC bar for a complimentary bite to eat with two free glasses of bubbly for ladies. When the outdoor terrace reopens, you’ll be able to start the weekend early, dancing to funky tunes supplied by the resident DJ.
Perfect for: Grown-up after-work drinks in Downtown.
Dress code: This place is a notch up from wearing jeans and T-shirts – maybe dust off a chic outfit.
Wednesday 7pm-9pm. No. 5 Lounge & Bar. The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC (04 372 2323).
Less pretentious than some of its rivals and also serves some pretty decent food, so if you fancy a low-key night with the girls, this Mexican-themed venue’s a pretty good shout. Turn up after 8pm on a Wednesday and ladies will get two free drinks as well.
Perfect for: Relaxing with your close friends.
Dress code: Whatever you fancy – go glamorous or simply throw on a stylish pair of jeans.
Wednesday 8pm-11am. Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Jumeirah (04 346 1111)
This London-branded, Polynesian-themed nightspot is one of Dubai’s most popular haunts for females. Hardly a reserved affair, if you’re a gal you can expect complimentary mixed drinks and canapés between 9pm and 11pm and on the first Tuesday of the month it’s Pink Tuesday, with free-flowing premium French bubbles. If you like your tunes cheesy and your clubs busy, Mahiki’s Pin Up Tuesday night is the place to be.
Perfect for: Partying with your pals.
Dress code: It’s worth making an effort, or you’ll feel under-dressed.
Tuesday 9pm-11pm. Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Umm Suqeim (055 216 0181).
