Cosy interiors, sunny hops gardens, roast dinners, the match on the big screen, a pint of hops, a curry… There’s something about pubs that’s really hard to beat. But while they may not quite be a dime a dozen in Dubai, the city still does a decent job when it comes to these casual, friendly establishments. Whether you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful watering hole or somewhere to splash out on a bit of posh grub on a lazy Saturday afternoon, these, the full shortlist and winners from Time Out
’s Music & Nightlife Awards this year, are the very best of the bunch. Belgian Café
The Dubai Festival City branch remains our favourite of the several Belgian Cafés that have sprung up around the city. This is the biggest, and has the best outdoor terrace to boot, with lovely Creek views and the skyline twinkling in the distance. We love its distinctly European vibe, with dark wood panels and art deco-style lighting fixtures, but more than that, we love its excellent selection of bar bites – from steaming pots of mussels to bitterballen and cheese balls, all paired with Belgian hops.Open daily noon-2am.
