The world’s largest ‘Game Jam’ is coming to Dubai

Think of yourself as having skills on par with Elliot from Mr. Robot? Or more of a newbie that just wants to try your hand at making a game? Well, prepare to get jamming at this huge gaming event.

The world’s largest Game Jam is making its way to Dubai, and it invites you to create games in just one weekend. Let the programming commence...

Taking place from Thursday January 30 until Saturday February 1 from 5pm onwards, the Global Game Jam will be held at startup incubator in5 Media in Dubai Production City.

You'll be challenged to build games that focus on a secret theme revealed on the day, with the entire programme set to complete in a 48-hour development cycle. You’ll have to code, fast.

Participants will be judged on various criteria, such as the game’s fun factor, completeness, creativity and potential of growing and scaling the game in future.

Got all that nailed? The winning teams to receive cash rewards up to Dhs15,000 and other valuable prizes. Not a bad way to kick off a potential career in game development.

If you’re ready to start programming, get yourself registered by heading here. You may as well, it’s completely free to sign up.
