There’s a free-flowing Nutella fountain being set up in Dubai

Chocolate lovers around the world will be celebrating Nutella Day on Tuesday February 5, but clearly the best place to be is Dubai, because we’re getting a Nutella fountain.

For one day only, the world-renowned choco-hazelnut spread will come in a free-flowing fountain form at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina all day long.

Best part? It’s completely free to dip into, whether you’re passing by the hotel or a guest – although guests at the hotel clearly have the advantage of being there already.

Fruits, marshmallows and plenty of other dippable treats will be provided at the lobby level of the resort, along with other “Nutella surprises” from head pastry chef, François Laloue.

That’s not all, as Laloue will be delivering handy tips on how best to eat the delicious spread, from cooking with i to simply spreading it on a piece of toast.

Nutella was first introduced back in 1965 by Italian company Ferrero, and has quickly become the go-to hazelnut spread loved the world over.

In fact, it’s so popular that a jar of Nutella sold every 2.5 seconds, and uses a quarter of all hazelnuts grown around the world. We wonder how much will be used in the fountain alone.

Tuesday February 5 also marks Chinese New Year celebrations around the city, and these are some of the best spots in Dubai to honour the Spring Festival the right way.

If you’re chocolate obsessed, these are some of the gooiest cocoa-based dishes to have around Dubai, if your sweet tooth can handle it.

Apologies, The Dubai Fountain, we’ll be visiting this fountain on Tuesday.
Free. Tue Feb 5. Lobby level, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Al Sufouh (04 399 4141).
