Atlantis The Palm
Time Out Says
This iconic hotel, its grand pink facade marking the end of the Palm’s trunk, is so sprawling and full of activities and restaurants that you’ll be extremely thankful for the resort’s chauffeured electric buggies by the end of your stay.
There’s everything from helicopter rides, tennis and scuba diving to dolphin encounters and stingray feeding sessions.
It’s also home to The Lost Chambers Aquarium, as well as the massive Aquaventure waterpark, which features thrilling rides – both of which you get into free as hotel guests.
The hotel is themed around the lost city of Atlantis, so naturally it features a huge aquarium containing “ancient ruins”, as well as dozens of colourful species of fish.
You can admire the tank from the hotel’s many walkways, or even dine right next to it at top seafood spot, Ossiano.
If you’re after something a little less formal, Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen is also housed in the hotel, as is world-famous Japanese chain Nobu, Chinese giant Hakkasan, Seafire Steakhouse & Bar and Ronda Locatelli from Italian chef Giorgio Locatelli.
And if you’re looking for fun for all the family, there’s Wavehouse – a bar and restaurant with a bowling alley, arcade games and even a surf machine.
Accomodation ranges from deluxe guest rooms to the Royal Bridge Suite with its own secret entrance, as well as some “underwater” suites, for bigger budgets.
Fire up those electric buggies – you’re going to have a busy week.
