Huge new Rixos hotel to open at Dubai's JBR

New resort with restaurants, bars and a beach club to open soon

UPDATE - 1.30pm, 11/5/17: An earlier version of this article stated the launch date of the Rixos Premium Dubai as May 15. The hotel's opening date has since been pushed back, and Time Out Dubai has been informed the property will launch "soon".

Foodies and live music fans are in for a treat as the Rixos Premium Dubai – housing a new Black Tap, Lock, Stock & Barrel and trendy US steakhouse STK – is set to open shortly, although the original launch date of May 15 has been pushed back.

The brand new hotel, located at the site of the old Oasis Beach Hotel on The Walk at JBR (demolished back in 2008), will house eight restaurants and bars, including Lock, Stock & Barrel (of which the Barsha Heights branch won our Best Bar Food gong at the 2017 Restaurant Awards), and the popular Black Tap, famous for its burgers, shakes and craft hops.

American steakhouse STK will also be setting up camp in Rixos Premium Dubai, as well as a fine-dining restaurant Luigia Ristorante and all-day dining spot Turquoise. Others include Azure Beach, Riviera Beach Grill and Crystal Lobby Lounge.

Azure Beach, Turquoise and Crystal Lobby Lounge will open at the same time as the hotel, while the other outlets are set to open in September. An opening date was originally planned as May 15, but this has been postponed, with a new date to be announced soon.

The Rixos brand is also famous for its traditional Turkish hammam, and there will be a luxurious one to try out at the new Natureland Spa. Fitness fans, meanwhile, will be able to work out at the state-of-the-art gym, boasting views over sea from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Boasting 443 rooms and suites, the 34-storey hotel has a private beach area, ten private meeting rooms and the Diamond Ballroom, which can cater for up to 1,000 guests.

“This is an excellent time to expand Rixos Hotels portfolio in Dubai as the market continues to experience radical growth while establishing itself further as one of the world’s premier leisure and business destinations”, said Fettah Tamince, founder and chairman of Rixos Hotels.
Rixos will be opening another property in Abu Dhabi next year, too.
