Tryp by Windham hotel to open on Sunday August 20

The modern and sleek hotel will arrive with three new bars and restaurants

A new hotel will open in Barsha Heights on Sunday August 20, promising a modern and sleek urban retreat for business and leisure, but also a range of new food and beverage outlets to check out.

Tryp by Wyndham is designed for the “modern urban traveller”, and offers up three different room types, all suited for different needs. The hotel in Barsha Heights, which Wyndham says its its largest Tryp hotel in the world, has 650 rooms and suites.

Room options include The Family Room, a family-friendly option with separate rooms and extra sleeping options for kids; as well as rooms for business travellers, with free wi-fi (The Premium Room). But it’s the third option that intrigues us most.

A hotel room targeted at health aficionados and fitness fans includes a king-sized bed, as well as a high-end virtual fitness cycle, fitness on-demand services, a yoga mat, a Swiss ball and hand weights. There’s even a dedicated menu and selection of mini-bar options for the health-conscious.

Three food and beverage outlets will also open at Tryp by Wyndham, each of which offering up something different. Local, the hotel’s flagship restaurant, promises to offer a relaxed venue for a bite to eat, with a contemporary yet rustic feel. Expect ocean-to-plate grub fresh from the fish market, with home-grown herbs to accompany your meal.

L!QD is where it’s at for a fun and funky poolside party, with Tryp by Wyndham describing this venue as a mash-up of Ibiza and Coachella. Tapas bites, mixed drinks and more will be available, plus early morning yoga classes, too.

BarBary Deli and Cocktail Club is the third outlet, described as a vintage Parisian hidden gem celebrating 1920s style, mixed with deep urban music and a menu reminiscent of a New York deli. The hotel will also feature a fully-serviced, collaborative work and meeting space – Nest – targetted at small businesses or business travellers.

We look forward to checking out the hotel and its outlets in all their glory.
