There’s a new hotel opening soon in the city – and we’ve been in early for a good nosey around.

Marriot International are getting ready to open the doors of the second Aloft hotel in the Dubai soon and the nice folks there let us duck under the ribbon for a sneak peek.

Aloft Me’aisam in Dubai Production City is urban, creative and generally rather distinctive. As our pictures show, you can expect artsy interiors, a sizeable swimming pool and best of all (in our opinion) a pool table in the lobby. Result.

The hotel has 223 rooms, 9ft high ceilings, ultra-comfortable plush beds, walk-in showers and 49-inch LED TVs.

If you can peel yourself away from lounging in luxury, you can check out the Aloft brand’s signature W XYZSM Bar and Re:mix Lounge, which extends into an outdoor space called The Backyard.

Both will offer Live At Aloft Hotels programming that showcases live acoustic performances by up-and-coming artists.

The hotel also offers Re:fuel by Aloft – a one-stop gourmet grab & go restaurant area and City Limits, an all-day café kitchen providing tasty meals throughout the day.

Other amenities at the hotel include Re:charge, the fully equipped fitness centre, an outdoor splash pool and a Tactic meeting space that is equipped with state-of-the-art A/V equipment and fast and free WiFi.

Rooms are also equipped with SPG Keyless, the industry’s first mobile check-in system where guests can use their mobile phones as room keys. Very savvy.

Aloft Me’aisam follows the opening of Aloft Palm, and the design-led brand’s modern style seems to be a permanent theme.

Alex Kyriakidis of Marriott International said: “The UAE remains one of our strongest growth markets and we are confident the continued growth of Aloft in the market is a strong response to the evolving expectations of travellers today.”

Stuart Birkwood, General Manager, added: “We are excited to open our doors to a very distinct hospitality experience.

“Aloft is designed for the hyper-connected, tech-savvy global traveller and we’re excited to share our innovative programming to the millennials travellers of today.”

Also set to open this year are Aloft City Centre Deira, on Sunday April 1, and Aloft Dubai South in Jebel Ali, on Wednesday August 1.

If they’re anything like this one, we can’t wait to see them.
