Palace-inspired hotel opening on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah

It will house Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse’s first UAE restaurant

There’s a new palace opening up on the Palm Jumeirah and you don’t have to be royalty to get through its illustrious doors.

Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai aims to evoke the great European palaces of the past with its sweeping atrium, towering marble columns and crystal chandeliers.

Located on the Palm’s West Crescent, the 100,000 sq m beach resort has 389 rooms and suites, eight top restaurants and bars, a 3,000 sq m spa, a state-of the-art gym and yoga studio, a 500m private beach and an 80-seat private cinema. Phew!

The super-swanky interiors of the hotel are inspired by the 18th century and the ballroom (you read that right) even comes walls in hand-painted gold leaf.

There’s also an imposing foyer, outdoor terrace and views across the Arabian Gulf and Palm Lagoon. Not too shabby, then.

And now onto the best bit. The hotel will have no fewer than eight world-class restaurants and bars, and we’ve got ourselves all worked up at the possibilities.

The Mix will be the first UAE restaurant by three Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse. For Italian cuisine, China Grill Management brings New York’s chic Italian restaurant concept All’onda to Dubai, while Il Riccio serves seafood focusing on recipes from Campania.

Contemporary pan-Asian steakhouse Enso gives premium steak cuts an oriental twist and NiDaLa lounge blends innovative drinks prepared by expert mixologists with a bohème atmosphere.

Last but not least, Kempinski will operate a European all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge serving haute French cuisine and a pool & beach bar with private dining.

Sebastien Mariette, Managing Director of Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai, said, “We look forward to welcoming our discerning guests to our palace by the sea in 2018, and bringing them on our journey.

“We aim to offer a combination of timeless opulence and world-class luxury to guests visiting Dubai, guaranteed to create unforgettable memories. The UAE is a compelling country full of rich culture, diverse landscapes and unique attractions, making it a must-visit destination for tourists from around the world.”

The hotel is set to open in 2018, although we don’t have an exact date, Time Out Dubai have been told to expect the grand opening after the summer. Watch this space.
