Dubai hotel launches a special room for kids

We’ve heard of family-friendly suites and kids’ clubs where little ones can head for some extra fun stays, but Swissôtel Al Ghurair’s latest room category is kiddie-only territory.

The brand new Kids' Room is designed for infants and kids up to 17 years old and features a range of entertainment options.

For mums with babies, there’s a lounge chair for feeding, crib or baby bed, stroller and audio monitor. Tots will find age-appropriate toys as well as paper and pencils for drawing.

Older kids, tweens and teens have plenty to choose from including the latest Nintendo Wii games, magazines and a giant Jenga and Tic Tac Toe. They can also watch some all-time favourites on DVD.

All Kids' Room gear is child-friendly, with internationally-certified amenities and clever safety solutions. Plus, an in-room kids’ menu.

Mum and dad can still keep an eye, as the interactive, learn-and-play space is located next door or in an adjoining room, and they can book it at 50 percent off too.

Also, if you’re looking for a brunch with the whole gang, Swissôtel Al Ghurair’s feast is designed especially with kids in mind. An afternoon of food, fun and games, the hotel’s new Play House Friday feast promises a host of activities.

The kids are the stars of the party-themed brunch. Each youngster will receive a special welcome wristband and stamp in their “kids’ passport” once when they arrive, and head to a special area, complete with colourful, child-sized buffet tables and cutlery.

The kids’ food hub has plenty of dishes on offer, including favourites such as pizza, a mini burger station, ice lollipops and a mighty chocolate fountain.

That’s one staycation the kids will love.
Prices vary. Swissôtel Al Ghurair, Al Ghurair Centre, Omar Bin Al Khattab Road, Dubai (04 293 3270).
