Souk Madinat Jumeirah to host free Easter wonderland

Souk Madinat Jumeirah is celebrating Easter with a mega fairy tale-style celebration from Friday April 19 until Saturday April 20, where there will be tonnes for families with kids of all ages to do.

It will all begin with Tinker the bunny, as it takes kids on an egg hunt where they race around the secret hiding spots to find as many eggs as they can and fill up their bags with treats. Mums and Dads will find plenty of special offers across eateries and retailers, too.

Face painters will also be waiting for little ones, all set to colour them happy as they meet some of their favourite characters including Jasmin, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell – and of course, the Easter bunny.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s ever-popular petting zoo will also return, where there will be loads of fun to be had with furry friends. The Central Courtyard will be home to a variety of animal species, where kids can meet South American chinchillas, African tortoises, rabbits, an iguana, all sorts of parrots, hedgehogs, budgies, guinea pigs, ducks, white rats, goats and even a python (yes, that's the largest living snake).

The petting zoo has been set up with the aim of lowering stress levels for kids and the whole family and teaching little ones about love as they make new animal friends. The two- and four-legged line-up will find its home in shaded play pens, so no need to worry about the weather.

Malaak Mama & Baby Care, an agency that offers childcare services, will be on hand to care for kiddies, offering arts, crafts and colouring – even inside restaurants as parents enjoy a good meal. Sounds like a plan.
Free. Apr 19-20, 2pm-9pm. Al Sufouh Road (04 366 8888).
