Dubai's Crowne Plaza’s Picnic Pantry brunch is back

If you’re keen to get the kids out and about at the weekend, the Crowne Plaza, Dubai Festival City, is a good place to start because the popular Picnic Pantry brunch is back.

The hotel’s popular al fresco brunch has long been a huge hit with families, but took a short break over the summer.

The Skyline Terrace is dramatically transformed into a park setting with benches, mats and cushions dotted around the restaurant.

Fill up your hampers from the cool walk-in pantry where snacks, salads, starters and a range of desserts are up for grabs (literally).

Then browse the barbecue stations where all the usual grilled meats – burgers, ribs and a selection of seafood – are cooked in Dubai’s largest smoker. Throw another shrimp on the barbie!

A dedicated kids’ buffet will satisfy little rumbling tummies. They can indulge in all their favourite food before getting their faces painted, burning off energy on the bouncy castle or unleashing their competitive side playing various fun games organised by the entertainers.

Once you’ve had your fill, head to the pool for a swim to work off all the food, or grab a spot in the shade and watch the little ones splash around in the kids’ pool – Friday afternoon sorted.

This is one picnic that isn’t short on anything, especially sandwiches!
Dhs245 (soft drinks), Dhs345 (house beverages), prices include pool access. Fri 12.30pm-4pm. Free (kids under 12). Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai Festival City, (04 701 1127).
