Ripe Market is back in Dubai with loads of new activities

Heading to Ripe Market this weekend with the family? Here's everything you need to know for a fun weekend full of things to do for all the family.

The family-friendly community-based market is back at the Dubai Police Academy from tomorrow (Friday October 25) and there's heaps of things to do for all the family.

Update your wardrobe
The Good Karma Co are bringing their fashion swap shop to market while encouraging fashionistas to embrace a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Sat Oct 26.

Green fingers
Ever fancied creating your very own terrarium from scratch? A workshop focused on helping you to do just that will be taking place on both days over the weekend. Bring the green inside!
Fri Oct 25 & Sat Oct 26.

Blooming marvelous
Flourish Flower will be teaching budding flower arrangers to pull together a beautiful floral center-piece for their room of choice. You have to sign up for this workshop in advance here.
10.30am Fri Oct 25.

Do a good deed
The whole weekend will be focusing on breast cancer awareness and the kids can get involved with some arts and crafts to raise funds for the worthwhile cause. All money raised from their hard work drawing, colouring and creating will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation.

In addition, there will be some fun activities involving pink slime (sorry mums, it's for a good cause) and everyone will be encouraged to write letters of hope and support for breast cancer patients.

Animal Magic
The mini animal kingdom is the perfect place for James Herriot wannabes to find out what it takes to look after a little furry friend and to learn all about the rescue animals that the Animal Care Centre looks after.

Trot on
The Dubai Police are back at the market, cute ponies in tow – literally, as little ones can be lead around the park on the back of a pony. And best of all, it's absolutely free.
Fri Oct 25 & Sat Oct 26.

A brand-new Garden Centre - all the way from Warsan - can now be found at the Academy Park where a range of indoor and outdoor plants – not to mention an onsite greenhouse - can be bought to take home to spruce up your home.
Fri Oct 25 & Sat Oct 26.

Dubai's got talent
There will be live entertainment throughout the day over the whole weekend, plus every Saturday you can take to the stage to showcase your singing talent at the open mic night.
Sat Oct 26.

Halloween happenings
Kids can get into the spirit of the spookiest day of the year with a slew of creepy activities, a Halloween photobooth wall and a chance to make their own monster and science experiments. Let's hope we don't get any real-life Frankensteins from this! And because no Halloween is complete without sweets all the Ripe Markets stall holders are getting involved in a massive trick or treat across the whole park. So dig out those costumes and fill your boots - or buckets.
