A Dubai dad is aiming to climb the equivalent of Burj Khalifa with his son on his back

Dubai dad Nick Watson is getting ready to take on an inspirational and awe-inspiring endurance challenge – and not for the first time may we add!

The former marine is planning to walk up and down the stairs at his house a staggering 118 times, which is the equivalent of climbing Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.

But as if that wasn't impressive enough, the father-of-two will be carrying his son Rio on his back.

The father-son duo will be attempting this enormous feat, which they've called Climb with Rio, on Saturday May 9 when together they will be ascending and descending a total of 829 metres in one continuous climb-a-thon.

Watson is expecting the climb to take four hours and is aiming to inspire people to stay home, stay safe and stay fit during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

And Watson and his son, who has a rare chromosome disorder, are encouraging people from all over the world to get involved and take on their own climb-a-thon, by picking an iconic landmark and virtually scaling it, without having to leave their homes.

Team AngelWolf founder, Nick Watson, says: “Our motto has always been togetherness and inclusivity, so the Climb With Rio challenge is our way of bringing people together at a time when many of us are being asked to stay apart. Both globally and locally, we are all going through a really tough period and we believe that this is a great opportunity to spread positivity throughout our communities. For those observing Ramadan, we also hope that our challenge can help raise awareness of the importance of staying healthy and active while fasting during this time."

People can support Team AngelWolf and join the challenge at home between Friday May 8 and Sunday May 10 and are encouraged to share their moments online using the hashtag #ClimbWithRio.
Fri May 8-Sun May 10. More information and downloadable Climb With Rio challenge packs can be found at www.teamangelwolf.com/climbwithrio.
