Safety of students is top priority this coming school year in the UAE

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is looking forward to a “safe start” to the new academic year for children in the emirate.

Safety of all students is a priority, as students prepare to go back to school across the UAE.

Preparations are underway to reopen schools and welcome back students, teachers and staff safely after schools were temporarily closed earlier this year.

"We look forward to a safe start and in accordance with the best safety standards for more than a million students within the education system in the Emirates," said Sheikh Mohammed.

"The UAE is well aware of the importance of smart learning as it invested earlier in the digital infrastructure.

Distance learning will be integral part of educational system. This is the future.

"It is a joint responsibility between school and home to ensure a safe and secure educational environment.”

Healthy and safety protocols have been introduced in all schools across the UAE to help keep students, teachers and staff safe.

Precautions including social distancing, wearing masks and reduction in class sizes have been introduced as well as options for children to continue remote learning for the first term.
UAE schools will return from August 30.
