While it might not be the ideal eatery for very young children (the conveyor belt proving too much of an attraction for determined tots) kids aged three and above will absolutely love the Yo! Sushi concept. Indeed, even fussy nibblers will be persuaded to try a different cuisine if they’re allowed to pick dishes off the belt themselves. The selection of fresh sashimi, sushi rolls and noodle and rice dishes is extensive, and diners can order from the hot food menu if the circling delights don’t appeal.
We found the firecracker rice, teriyaki chicken and salmon a big hit with the toddler, while our older, veg-shy child tucked into a huge pile of edemame beans, which were warm in their pods and addictively salty. The deliciously large, made-to-order seaweed wraps, bursting with sticky rice and fresh tuna or salmon, made a hearty meal for dad, and weight-watching mums can eat their fill without tucking into a single, dreaded carb. We also loved the service buttons, which result in a smiling member of staff dancing to your attention within seconds, while the refillable drinks, jasmine tea and miso soup on tap are truly bargainous.
