According to Dr Phillips, the family medicine and emergency specialist at Synergy Integrated Medical Centre, all mums and maids should have a first aid qualification and renew it every three years. ‘In our first aid courses, you learn how to deal with respiratory problems, such as choking and drowning, as well as burns, limb injuries, bleeding, wounds, seizures and management of fever and head injuries,’ says Dr Phillips. The Pediatric First Aid Course with Dr Phillips takes place this month on November 27 from 9.30am-12.30pm.
