This market boasts lots of stalls packed with baby clothes and children’s goods, including favourites from 6AM Babies, IDesign for Babies, and all sorts of ethical, fair-trade handicrafts. Browse the stalls then pop into one of Marina Walk’s street-side cafés for a spot of supper.

New Tantalise your taste buds at Taste of Dubai
The foodie festival is back, and it’s not just for grown-ups. There’s plenty to bring out the kids’ inner gastronome, including cookery classes with celebrity chefs, the chance to sample food from Dubai’s top eateries and a kids’ zone run by Favourite Things, including a bouncy castle, arts and crafts and more.

Today Only Audition for Cats
If musical theatre’s their thing, don’t miss the open auditions for this local production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical, Cats. Those who are successful will get the opportunity to star alongside some of the West End’s leading artists in the show, which takes to the stage later this year at Ductac. Suitable for ages 11 and up – pre-register to secure an audition slot.

Enjoy the luck of the Irish
It’s St Patrick’s Day, so head down to the family-friendly Irish Village to celebrate. Enjoy a buffet of Irish specialities in the sunshine while the kids bounce on the inflatables, get their faces painted and watch the Irish dancing display.

Renowned artist Sacha Jafri has teamed up with the children of the Al Noor Centre for Special Needs to create a special art installation that goes on display today at Gate Village, DIFC. Called the ‘Constellation of Sacha Jafri’, the artist has aimed to bring to life the children’s unique stories.

Art Dubai starts today
There’s plenty for little kids to get involved with at this annual artistic event. Check out ‘Morocco to the Moon’, a collaboration between Tangiers-based artist Yto Barrada and Marrakech-based designers Zid Zid Kids. This ’50s sci-fi-inspired lounge takes the whole family through a trip to outer space and beyond – expect astronauts, aliens, ray guns and space robots at every turn.

Bird’s eye views from the cable car
