A brand new vaccine that can immunize children against the deadliest form of meningitis could soon be available in the UAE. Currently the vaccine, called Bexsero, which can protect children against more than 800 strains of the deadly bacterial illness, is awaiting final approval in the UK, and won’t become part of the routine vaccination programme for some time. But the news is a positive step forward in saving lives, as approximately 400 children in the UK die every year from Meningococcal B. We think this could be the best health news we’ve heard all year.
