Take your kids to Mini Monsters every Thursday morning for a raft of cool classes laid on for pre-schoolers. Visit the Mum & Baby Market Day
The JustKidding Mum & Baby Market Day weekend takes place today and tomorrow. The event gives mums-to-be and new mums the chance to meet up with midwives, childcare experts and service providers. Visitors can also try new products, with free entertainment and arts and crafts laid on for older kids.

See Cinderella at Ductac
The Turning Pointe Youth Ballet stages a production of this classic ballet today and tomorrow, performed by the students of the dance school. The hour-long show is aimed at families with children between the ages of three and 15. At the end of the show, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, the Ugly Sisters, Prince Charming and the gang will meet and greet the audience.

Mums: looking for a second-hand bargain? Head to Times Square Centre today: the Baby Bazaar is run by mums, for mums, and you can pick up all sorts of pre-loved items that would cost you a small fortune if you bought them brand new. If you have a surplus amount of baby equipment and fancy making a few dirhams yourself, you can also rent a table and attempt to flog your unwanted wares. If you’re visiting with the kids, you can book them into the Times Square jungle gym, leaving you free to browse. The bazaar takes place on the last Saturday of every month.

Ripe at Le Gourmet
Make a beeline for The Courtyard in Al Quoz and check out the Ripe farmers’ market, running from 9am until 1pm. You’ll find lots of fresh, organic and locally grown produce that you’ll feel virtuous about purchasing, and there are activities laid on for the kids too to keep them entertained while you browse the stalls.

Art exhibition for kids
It’s your last chance to visit ‘Animalz: The Complete Collection’, an exhibition by artist James Gaubert taking place at Cartoon Art Gallery. It’s a humorous look at the animal work through the eyes of a cartoon
artist: the simplicity of line and colour will appeal to kids, and might even inspire them to create some animal artistry themselves.

A fun day out at Fun City, Lamcy Plaza
Take the little monsters for a session at Lou Lou al Dugongs – an edutainment centre with water play, sand play, a jungle gym, soft play, a mini supermarket, kids’ library and free children’s cooking classes laid on every hour. It’s great value for parents who want their kids entertained all afternoon, and is suitable for children aged two to 10. There’s also a sanity-saving café where parents can sit down and relax.

Water and Light
Show and community drumming at Festival City Mall Enjoy the Water and Light Show at Dubai Festival City Mall, and try the free community drumming sessions too. The Water and Light Show combines laser displays, fountains and music. It runs from 6.30pm, with the 25-minute show repeated throughout the evening. The community drumming, organised by Dubai Drums, takes place on the Canal Walk, at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.
