Water and light show and community drumming at Festival City
Head to Festival City to catch the Water and Light Show– and try the free community drumming sessions too. The show combines laser displays, fountains and music. It runs from 6.30pm, with the 25-minute show repeated throughout the evening. The community drumming, organised by Dubai Drums, takes place on the Canal Walk, at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

Watch Top Cat in 3D
A blast from the past for parents who remember the antics of New York alley cat TC, this digital take on the original Hanna-Barbera character is bound to be a hit with the kids. Stock up on popcorn and watch as Top Cat, his cronies and good old Officer Dibble attempt to claw back their roles as a robot police force takes over crime fighting in the city. A great weekend treat and one that little ones will enjoy as much as bigger kids.

Pirates of Dinosaur Island
Perfect for little ones with a prehistoric penchant, this colourful kids’ play tells the story of a mother and baby dinosaur who live peacefully on Dinosaur Island. When pirates discover the island, they also realise the mother is upset because her baby is lost. Cue lots of audience participation, singalong songs, and slapstick comedy – plus a valuable lesson about why little ones need to stay close to their parents.

Reaching U Family Fun Day
Join the fun and games at Za’abeel Park as the sixth annual Reaching U Family Fun Day kicks off. Activities this year include bouncy castles, lots of organised games, face painters, performers, music, dance, refreshments and plenty of sociable interaction. The whole point behind the event is to promote awareness and integration for children with special needs in the community. No money is raised: it is simply about people getting together and having fun. Last year 4,500 people attended, so expect a good crowd.

Meet Goldilocks and her furry friends

A day of fun at Fun City
