Fun City branches

All Fun City branches are currently running the Dhs1 per ride Mega Mondays promotion which means kids who love all things beepy (and we’ve yet to meet any other kind) can literally do their worst and not punch a hole in your pocket at the same time. If you’re out with a pair of ‘ride junkies’ set a limit of Dhs30 per child – and that should keep them happy for at least an hour and a half. Then you still have Dhs40 left for their food. A healthy sandwich each – or perhaps even a fast-food meal with a toy included, as well as a coffee for you, is an option. Deal applies to all Fun City branches in the UAE. Dubai branches are; Lamcy Plaza, Mercato, Oasis Centre, Al Reef Mall and Ibn Battuta. www.funcity.ae (04 501 4699)

LunarLand at Wafi
Under eights can enjoy an energetic session at LunarLand in Wafi City. The extensive play area includes a very large jumping castle, an extensive jungle gym, a track for ride-on spacers, and a number of pay-per-ride attractions too. Entry cost is just Dhs20 per hour, so if your little monkeys are extra energetic, they could spend two hours doing their worst in the play area, before hitting the food court handily placed just outside LunarLand. Options for snacks are limited to the food outlets which include a live pasta station and a Subway. A six-inch sub will set you back Dhs10, while bottles of water cost Dhs2. We suggest you bring your own beverages and let them loose on a sandwich each. www.wafi.com (04 324 7747)

Magic Planet every Tuesday
Our personal favourite for little ones is the Mirdif City Centre branch, but don’t forget the ones in Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre too. Every Tuesday, kids get 50 per cent off all rides and games, so Dhs50 of credit on your Magic Planet swipe card equals Dhs100 worth of fun. That’s enough to ensure they are a reasonable amount of time going on all those rides, which include a ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, heaps of ride-on gizmos and video games for older kids to enjoy. Once they’ve had their fill, stop off at the food court. We rate the London Fish because from 12-4pm, Sun-Thu, all meal menu items cost just Dhs20. You can choose anything from fish and chips to soups and salads. www.theplaymania.com (04 341 4444)
