Family fun in Dubai

Family brunch, cookie decorating, mini golf and more

Wednesday 15

Painting classes at Funky Monkeys
Unleash your kid’s inner artist by letting them loose on a canvas at Funky Artists every Wednesday. The 30-minute class takes place in the super cute Arts & Crafts section of Funky Monkeys, so they can do some seriously arty damage without you worrying about paint splattering on the walls. No materials are required; just make sure they don’t wear their best clothes!
From Dhs20 per child aged four and above. Sun-Wed 4pm-5pm. Funky Monkeys Playland, Wasl Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road (above Safestway Supermarket), (04 338 4114).

Thursday 16

Barni Coffee Morning
Grab the kids and pop along to an informative talk on kid’s nutrition and healthy snacking held by Nutritionist Hala Barghout at KidZania. Parenting coach, Super Granny, will also be on hand to interact with mums and dads and give tips on parenting and coaching while kids aged four and over enjoy fun activities in the Barni Corner.

Friday 17

Head to the beach with Nivea Sun
With only a few weeks to go until it’s officially too hot to do anything outdoors, breathe in the sea air and make some sandcastles. Nivea Sun will be on hand at Kite Beach in Jumeirah to help both parents and little ones make the most of their remaining beach time. There will be lots of family-friendly beach games to get involved in, some super cool prizes to be won and of course, free sun screen for all. Don’t miss it.
Free. 10am-5pm. Kite Beach, Jumeirah, behind Sunset Mall.

Sunday 19

Take the kids to see a musical
If your tots are a bit dramatic and love a good story, bring them to see You Raise Me Up, an all singing, all dancing variety show by Diverse Choreography. Broken into four sections – weird and wonderful, stand up and stay strong, musical revival and songs that made them famous – this brilliant theatre show addresses a range of kids issues from the power of individuality to how to stand up to bullies, all through the medium of popular songs and toe-tapping dance routines. A great night out for all the family.
Dhs115. Show starts at 7.30pm. Madinat Theatre, Umm Suqeim, (04 366 6546).

That’s right, a neon golf course! Kids of all ages can enjoy this super fun activity at Play-A-Round, even very big kids. While away an hour pitching and putting as the tiny tots are entertained in the soft play area on site. Do you have big kids who prefer to play on their own? Play A Round has that covered too.
