Education

Name: Raquel Bodoso
Place of work: My Gym UAE
Job Title: Lead Teacher

Where did you go to school?

St Mary’s High School and La Salle University in the Philippines

What was your favourite subject?

English Literature. I enjoyed the stories and the discussions we used to have about the characters and it led to a love of theatre and acting.

What was your least favourite?

I disliked Maths and Accounting, especially problem solving elements. I found it complicated and never enjoyed it.

Did you have a favourite teacher?

My favourite teacher in High School was my English Language teacher Miss Ruth who helped me develop my leadership skills, language skills and who always encouraged me to perform to my highest. She would tell my mum I would excel in whatever I wanted to do.

Were you good or naughty?

I was good at school but very talkative and chatty and regularly got sent out of the classroom!

What was the naughtiest thing you did at school?

I used to tie the shoelaces of my classmates to their chair so they would get up and fall over which I thought was really funny until they called my mum to the Principal’s office!

What’s your happiest memory from your school days?

I loved Sports Day when we would have to put on a dance performance for the whole school and I loved playing the role of Mother Mary in all the school’s catholic productions.

What about your worst one?
It was Initiation Day at my High School and I slipped and fell down an entire flight of stairs and my dress flew up over my head. Everyone laughed. I was 14 and so embarrassed!
