Job Title: Principal
Where did you go to school?
I attended school with my three younger brothers in Scotland in a rural country village surrounded by farms, woods, rivers and open fields.
What was your favourite subject?
My favourite subjects were History and English.
What was your least favourite?
My least favourite was definitely home economics, as I am not a keen seamstress.
Did you have a favourite teacher?
My favorite teacher was Miss Clancy. She was a modern teacher who inspired me to become a teacher through her teaching philosophies and the high expectations she had.
Were you good or naughty?
Yes, I was a little naughty away from school but very well-behaved and focused in school.
What was the naughtiest thing you did at school?
The naughtiest thing I did was climb up the school drainpipe and climb onto the school roof. I was an active child who enjoyed lots of hands-on learning which I continue to promote within the early years sessions I lead.
What’s your happiest memory from your school days?
My happiest memories from school were the school sports days, as I was very keen to finish first at any sports and had the advantage of being an exceptional runner so I generally did finish first through speed and sheet determination did help.
My parents were very ambitious for their children and their motivation and support allowed myself and my brothers to do very well in their careers and enjoy good personal success.
What about your worst one?
My worst memory from school was when my friend left without telling me she was leaving. As a child, I probably didn’t understand the reasons behind her sudden departure, but I still remember the sadness I felt.
