Every once in a while, a Friday brunch comes along, draws you in and impresses even the most discerning cheese station connoisseur. Suq at The Four Seasons Resort Dubai has one. It is a big, bustling, friendly way to say “hello” to the new brunch season, topped off with freshly shucked oysters and caviar blinis.
Here, the staff are particularly attentive. On our visit, our littlest girl brings along her favourite doll, which is provided with a high chair, cutlery and a bread roll (delivered with an entirely straight face).
Then we see the children’s area, which is cleverly placed within the restaurant (rather than in a side room that has you getting up every five minutes to check on them). The nannies are welcoming and helpful, offering arts and crafts activities, face painting and Disney movies on loop. It’s low-key, but entertaining enough to have them popping back and forth throughout the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the food options are broad without being overwhelming, and the quality is simply outstanding. From the delicately prepared sushi and sashimi “cocktail” glasses to the perfectly cooked roast beef and the freshly pressed and spiralled pasta – spun from the machine right in front of our wide-eyed eldest – it’s all well prepared and tasty.
The ice cream and range of toppings is declared “the best” this family has ever tasted. And, there’s also an organic salad bar for made-to-order bowls that look almost too pretty to eat. All of this comes alongside more tasters brought straight to the table. We honestly couldn’t be more impressed.
After we can’t possibly eat another morsel, we then enjoy a walk through the hotel’s gardens and head onto the beach for a swing in a hammock. There’s no better way to round off a truly delicious afternoon.
The Bottom Line
This brunch appeals to the grown-ups as well as the kids. Book now.
