Naomi Williams interview

Meet the headmistress of Foremarke School in Dubai

Where did you go to school?
I went to an international school in Hamburg, Germany when I was younger and then went to a boarding school when I was 11.
What was your favourite subject?
I really enjoyed my German lessons because the teacher, Mr Stengel, used to hand out a lot of chocolate! I also loved Geography lessons because I always found maps of the world to be incredibly interesting.
Were you good or naughty?
Mostly good, sometimes a little naughty.
What’s the naughtiest thing you did?
Once I hid in my wardrobe in my dormitory at school because I did not want to go for dinner.
What is your happiest memory from your school days?
Most memories are about the life-long friends that I made there, the fun and exciting times we had together playing sport or just walking to lessons, working together in class, chatting over endless cups of hot chocolate in the winter months at break times and supporting each other through difficult exams and homesickness!
