Tala Badri interview

Meet the Founder and Executive Director of Centre for Musical Arts

Education

Where did you go to school?
I went to Dubai English Speaking School.

What was your favourite subject?
Surprisingly, my favourite subject was maths and not music!

Were you good or naughty?
I wasn’t really naughty but I was labelled ‘the chatterbox’ because I was constantly talking.

What’s the naughtiest thing you did?
I remember once, for April Fool’s Day, we stuck down all the stationery, like pencils and pens on the teacher’s desk with superglue, so she couldn’t move them!

What is your happiest memory from your school days?
I have so many! I was one of those annoying children that really loved going to school and it was so much fun in Dubai back in those days. I loved sports days and swimming galas and remember getting the lead in the school play, and being house captain for my house, Jaguars.
