Known as the original gentleman’s game – that’s now just as popular with the girls – they say you’re never too young to pick up your first set of clubs and play golf. So, if there’s a budding Tiger Woods or Michelle Wie in the house, who has been following you around the fairway since they could walk, a birthday party on the greens could be a great idea.
If you fancy an outdoor birthday party with a difference, the lush lawns of Arabian Ranches Golf Club can easily cater for larger numbers. It’s led by PGA golf professionals trained to teach kids the basics of the sport over a one-hour lesson.
The one-hour session, which includes top tips and fun activities, followed by food in the Baker Finch room back at the golf club afterwards, will set you back Dhs250 per child. It sounds pricey, but includes all equipment and an impressive spread.
The party menu will suit even the fussiest guest and has pizza, French fries, macaroni cheese, fish fingers and mini beef burgers they can enjoy assembling themselves. The best bit is definitely the dessert, though – the selection features ice creams and a candy station, complete with sweets, lollipops, jelly beans and chocolate drops.
Go for a late afternoon slot to beat the heat and make sure everyone is slathered in sunscreen, as there’s very little shade. Young ones might get tired quickly, so bear this in mind before committing.
Not the cheapest party on the block, but if you’re looking to bring your child’s next bash up to par (see what we did there?), then this should be top of your hit list (sorry, not sorry!).
