The Restaurant at Address Boulevard review

Take your pick of your favourite room in the house at Downtown Dubai’s newest dining option

When we arrive at the Address Boulevard we sweep through the dazzlingly light, glamorous lobby and into the warm cocoon of The Restaurant’s main living area, where we are asked whether we would prefer to sit in The Study, The Dressing Room, The Kitchen, The Games Room or The Music Room.

While we take in the stunning vista of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai below, much giddiness ensues when the little ones realise they can dictate their own music (vinyl permitting) on the gramophone. The Music Room it is, then.

This place is setting itself out to be something entirely different. A home away from home, offering utter comfort, or a casual hangout with friends (fancy a game of backgammon, anyone?). Albeit in total five-star luxury, of course.

Freshly squeezed juices in superhero cups accompany perfectly presented (and super tasty) mini sliders and Fishy Fingers from the extensive kids’ menu. For the grown-ups’ meanwhile, the Josper-grilled wagyu striploin is the best steak we’ve tasted in years.

A trio of hummus is also served with feta and olives, lamb ragu and roasted mushrooms, it’s a unique dip-as-you-go option.

The kids’ desserts are playful ice cream sundaes with names as wacky as their presentation. They’re a hit!

The staff are enthusiastic about The Restaurant’s concept, and offer us a tour. We find out about the excellent swim and dine offers (Dhs300 with Dhs200 food and drinks credit on weekdays; Dhs400 with Dhs300 credit on weekends; kids under ten go free) that could make this the next hotspot in town for a family pool day. We’ll take our swimsuits next time!
