Music for Muggles

Catch The Philosopher’s Stone complete with live symphonic orchestra

Music and magic will align with each other this September, offering a rare treat for those who love all things Harry Potter. For three nights only, the du Forum on Yas Island will shiver and shake to every pitch-perfect note from the first movie, The Philosopher’s Stone.

As you watch Harry and friends get up to all sorts of wizardry on a 40-foot, high-definition screen, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès will fine-tune its instruments to bring John Williams’ unforgettable score live to the UAE for the very first time. This magical musical extravaganza has already played to sell-out audiences of movie connoisseurs across Europe and is scheduled to include hundreds of performances around the world throughout 2018. The global concert tour is expected to attract fans from all over the GCC who can’t get enough of the half-blood wizard.

Justin Freer, president of CineConcerts, who have recently been behind live stage shows including Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage 50th Anniversary Concert Tour, is also producer and conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. He explains: “It is with great pleasure that we introduce an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. It will be an unforgettable event.”

Brady Beaubien, the concert producer of the series, adds: “We hope that by performing this incredible music with the full movie, audiences will enjoy returning to this magical world, and to the many wonderful characters that inhabit it.”
