Colette Kelly interview

Head of PE at Regent International

Sports and Outdoor

Where did you go to school?
I went to school in a small town called Castlewellan in Northern Ireland.

What was your favourite subject?
PE, of course! I loved sports at school and representing my school was a real honour. I was delighted when I got to choose my GCSE options because I had PE lessons six times a week!

What was the naughtiest thing you did in school?
Hiding under the table to scare my teacher, luckily she found it funny!

What is your happiest memory from your school days?
Being chosen for the U18 Gaelic football squad when I was in Year 7. It was a daunting experience to play with older girls but it really boosted my confidence and that is when my love of sport and competition really began.

Who has been your career inspiration?
I feel like I have been my own inspiration. I would try to seek out every opportunity to meet or exceed personal challenges and if I failed, I would reflect on why and make the changes to try again and learn from the experience.
