Family fun at Manarat Al Saadiyat in February

Activities include free astronomy and fitness sessions, plus yoga and art

Abu Dhabi’s Manarat Al Saadiyat is known for its art, cultural activities and community events. Its February line-up is all about family-friendly fun.

Manarat Al Saadiyat’s monthly favourite, the free Full Moon Lunar Observation by Al Sadeem Astronomy, is taking place on Friday February 23 from 6pm to 9pm at the Plaza. Everyone will stand under the stars and learn about the constellations and life cycles of stars.

For mums in search of some relaxation, Bodytree studio will be realigning their souls and helping them find balance. On that same day, the studio will host a full moon yoga session from 6pm to 7pm for Dhs70 per session at the Garden or Theatre.

Mums can also go for ongoing, weekly fitness sessions hosted by Mprov Fitness, which are free for the first two to four weeks, and they take place at the Garden from 4pm to 6pm.

Fancy a free family movie night? Cinema Space’s World Cinema theme for the month features beautifully restored classics and contemporary world cinema. On Saturday February 17, the space will play a family-friendly movie from 4pm to 6pm.

Now on to some art. The Art Studio offers a range of timed workshops, specially designed for different age groups and levels. Taking place as stand-alone workshops or as part of a bigger series, they’re led by teaching artists and explore a variety of techniques, styles and themes.

There’s also the Drop-In Studio for people of all ages to casually experiment and create artworks at their own pace for up to two hours. Art instructors are on hand to provide inspiration and suggest themes for them to explore.

Now there’s some February fun to add to your diary!
The Art Studio: Dhs100-150 per session (adults and teens), Dhs50-75 per session (kids); Drop-In Studio: Dhs50 for two hours (adults and teens), Dhs30 for two hours (kids). Open Sun-Thu 3.30pm-8pm; Fri-Sat 10am-8pm. Manarat Al Saadiyat, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, (02 6575 800).
