Aqua-nursery babies
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo’s youngest residents now have their own aqua-nursery, where they spend their initial months surrounded by other new arrivals. This is where aquarium experts care for the newborns and kids get to learn about the varying life cycles and reproductive processes for a variety of species. Currently residing in the nursery are zebra sharks, shovel nose rays, bamboo sharks and blue spotted rays.
From Dhs110 (standard Aquarium ticket includes entry to the nursery). The Dubai Mall, Dubai (04 448 5200).

Bounce with legends

We love free-play, and free-jumping centre BOUNCE is taking it to the next level. The trampoline park has collaborated with legendary parkour group “Team Farang” to bring a series of free-running masterclasses to the UAE. Devised by Team Farang founder Shaun Wood, Farang Jams @ BOUNCE will allow free-running enthusiasts aged 12 and up to learn the basics of parkour, improve their fitness levels and challenge themselves to take on cool moves. Team Farang will also be inviting schools to bring their PE classes to BOUNCE.
Dhs200. Mon May 28, 5pm-7pm. Third Floor, Remal Mall, Al Ain (04 3211 400).

Fairy floss french toast

This new treat from Arrows and Sparrows’ extended kids’ menu is (almost) too cute to eat. Made of brioche soaked in cinnamon eggs, Nutella, candy floss, pralines, strawberry coulis, marshmallows, fresh strawberries, and banana slices, we, well, we pretty much have nothing more to say. A fruit bowl has also been added to the menu for kiddies to enjoy something on the healthier side. As for mum and dad, they can try the new Strawberry Monster Shake.
Dhs27. Arrows and Sparrows, The Greens, Dubai (04 558 8141).

Let them make pizza

There’s a new kids’ pizza menu at Boardwalk restaurant that allows little ones to design their own version of Italy’s favourite dish. Each junior chef is given a traditional base that they can top with veal ham, chicken chorizo and much more. The team then cook it in their signature wood-fire oven for the kids to eat.
Dhs50 (make-your-own pizza, ice cream and a soft drink or juice). Boardwalk, Dubai Creek Yacht Club, Deira, Dubai (04 295 6000).

Go out for bareburgers

Bareburger is all about nutritious food made from 100 percent natural ingredients, 60 percent of which are certified organic. Among its three kids’ burgers is the Grizzly, made from organic beef, cheese and ketchup, all sandwiched between a brioche bun. Yum.
Dhs38. Various locations including Dubai Festival City Mall, Dubai (04 338 7110); Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi (02 441 1723).
