Mums and dads, have you started planning your break yet? Well, it seems like you better get to it as we now know the kids will get four days off very soon.

Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority has declared that the Eid Al-Fitr holiday for all schools will begin on Thursday June 14 and end on Sunday June 17.

The good news is, Monday could be off too, so keep an eye out for updates over the next couple of days. Drumrolls…

The KHDA tweeted: “You can sleep late on Thursday and Sunday because school’s closed – it’s the #Eid holiday! Have a great time however you choose, but remember to keep checking the news to find out whether there’s school on Monday.”

The number of vacation days varies by country and also depends on the date on which Eid Al-Fitr is observed in each.

Depending on when Eid begins, Shawwal three – the following month – will either coincide with Sunday June 17 or Monday June 18.

However, the official start of Eid Al-Fitr is subject to the moon sighting, after which we’ll know the exact date.

We’re as excited as the kids are about the very long weekend. Where will you head this break?

There’s so much to do in Dubai, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun. As always, you can count on us to keep you posted.
