Do your kids dream of becoming astronauts?
Their chance to train for space has finally arrived.
From Sunday July 15 to Thursday August 23, Dubai will have a NASA Space and Rocketry Summer Camp for kids to participate in.
The camp is open to youngsters aged nine to 18 and will be led by NASA experienced space experts from North America and Europe.
Using NASA’s and the UAE’s space curriculum, space projects and astronaut training, campers will get to learn what it’s like to live and work in space. Lucky little ones.
Students will also get the chance to design their own base on Mars and learn about the mission to the red planet.
For the engineers out there, the camp will introduce the science of rockets and their propulsion, giving them the chance to build a real model rocket.
Just so they get the full experience, kids will get to taste food made specifically for space, which will be an interesting experience, we’re sure.
The weekly camps will take place at Lapita Hotel Ballroom, Dubai Parks and Resorts, on weekdays from 10am to 4pm throughout the summer.
The all-inclusive registration fee for NASA Space and Rocketry Camp 2018 is Dhs2,650. To register, be sure to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 056 455 1574.
CEO of Compass International, partner of NASA, Lissy Donald said: “We’re delighted to be bringing these amazing minds from the world’s leading space agency to UAE to share their knowledge with young people.”
This isn’t the only space-related activity UAE has to offer, as the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) also launched the UAE Zero Gravity competition, where students can win a trip on a parabolic flight, which simulates zero gravity win a trip.
The competition is open until July 5, so be sure to get registered fast. You can find more information here.
