Al Quoz and Al Barsha guide

Find out the basics about living in Al Quoz and Al Barsha

Al Quoz & Al Barsha

What’s the area like?
This area is coming on in leaps and bounds. It is home to a thriving community with shops, schools, hotels and, of course, Mall of the Emirates. The ramshackle collection of villas in Al Quoz behind the Pepsi Factory also shouldn’t be forgotten.

Amenities
Aside from the mall, try the Millennium Hotel for bars and restaurants, Emirates Golf Club for a dose of greenery and Lulu hypermarket for your food shop. The city’s best art galleries are all located in the industrial areas of Al Quoz.

Best for
Families and professional couples, who aren’t after luxury.

Pros
Big thumbs up for the rustic feel of Al Quoz and cheaper rents for big villas in Al Barsha – compared to Jumeirah anyway. The location is also pretty central, with easy access to Mall of the Emirates metro station and Business Bay.

Cons
Villas in Al Quoz are like gold dust and you’ll be hard-pushed finding one. Much of Barsha is also likely to resemble a building site for the foreseeable future, especially with the postponement of many developments.
Average cost of a two-bed apartment in Al Barsha: To rent Dhs90,000.
