1 The tunnel
By far the highlight for us was the aquarium’s tunnel. Thankfully lined with 750mm thick glass, as soon as you walk in you find yourself eye to eye with around 20 Tiger sharks, attracted to the dark area of the tank.
2 The Discovery Centre
Upstairs, penguins are one of the highlights, along with seals, giant crabs and otters. The former are from Peru and Chile, so are well adapted to a warmer climate.
3 The Gold Souk
The largest indoor Gold Souk in the world, even those who aren’t into gold can enjoy the artistic projections on the giant atrium ceiling.
4 Fashion Ave
Set to be home to the world’s top designers, and first in the world to see their new collections on this catwalk. Although we were a bit surprised – it wasn’t even raised from the floor – we were soon distracted by the videos swirling on its surface. And the models.
5 The Ice Rink
The Olympic-sized ice rink looks… Olympic-sized. And the giant, distracting LED screen next to it is bound to cause quite a few tumbles.
