Are you happy?

Don't be depressed in Dubai. We're here to turn that frown upside down

The Knowledge

Whatever industry you’re in, Dubai tends to be a high-pressure place to work. Add to that the fact 80 percent of the population is living away from home (plus loved ones they left behind) and the temptation to play just as hard as you’re working, and you’ve got a recipe for a potential burn-out.

A recent survey by YouGov found 49 percent of UAE respondents to be stressed or severely so, while a study by mattress firm Intercoil found that though 35 percent of respondents claim to sleep better now than 12 months ago, half still report a very poor average night’s sleep.

When you’re feeling low, it can be hard to enjoy all the truly great activities and opportunities this city has to offer, let alone find the energy to land that next promotion or the spark to make the change you’ve long been dreaming of. There are many things that can contribute to feeling utterly rubbish, but the good news is that making just small changes can have a monumental impact on what you get out of the coming days, weeks, months and years. To help you identify what might be getting you down, and how to solve the issue, we’ve taken a look at some of the easiest steps to getting back on track and really living your life again.

Don’t worry – you’ve got this.
