There’s Dhs150, 000 up for grabs, and the chance to perform live for the world. What are you waiting for?

The Knowledge

So, you’ve been told you can sing. Maybe you’ve brought the house down at karaoke, or wowed family and friends with your best Mariah Carey rendition?

Now’s the time to take it to the next level, and be in with the chance of bagging yourself Dhs150,000 in the process.

The Arabian Centre Radio Star 2009 competition – yes, it’s a bit of a mouth full - is being held in three languages – Arabic, English and Hindi, across the three Channel 4 Stations – 107.8 Radio Rabia (Arabic), 104.8 Channel 4 FM (English) and 89.1 Radio 4 FM (Hindi) respectively.

The entries for each of the three channels will be short listed and divided into two sub categories – below 14 and above 14.

The Grand Finale will then choose 18 winners – three in each category, in three languages, making the Arabian Centre Radio Star the largest talent search contest for singers in the UAE.

The contest is open for registration from now until June 12, 2009. Eager applicants can register and audition for the Arabian Centre Radio Star at a special studio set up at the Arabian Centre mall.

During the five-week long period of the contest, Channel 4 Radio Network will broadcast live from the mall where the presenters will bring live auditions and updates to the radio listeners. The broadcast of the contest will be aired live on Channel 4 every evening from Arabian Centre.

The selected singers will then compete in the semi finals and the Grand Finale, to be held on June 25, 26 and 27, at the Arabian Centre and broadcasted live.

The winner will not only receive the Dhs150,000 prize money, they will also record their own single.

If you think that this sounds like the competition for you, hot foot-it down to the Arabian Centre – it’s on Al Kwaneej Road in Mirdiff – and sign-up quick.
