Celtic FC were crowned the first ever legends champions at the Emirates Airline Dubai Football 7s after defeating AC Milan in the final.
The extra time victory was sealed by a Pierre van Hooijdonk goal to give the Scottish team a 3-2 victory over pre-tournament favourites AC Milan.
Celtic appeared to be cruising to an easy win after van Hooijdonk and teammate Andy Walker had given them a 2-0 lead. However a spirited fight back by the Milanese legends saw goals from Stefano Eranio and the man of the weekend Paolo Di Canio. It was Celtic that finished strongest, however, and captain John Collins lifted the trophy.
The Celtic Legends’ semifinal match against Liverpool had also gone into extra time before they bagged a 1-0 victory to book their spot in the final while AC Milan had reached the final by defeating Rangers 4-1.
